Eager, pumped, revved up, and ready to go… with just days to go until the Global EdTech Awards 2024 launch, the excitement is building!

After such an amazing first year of the awards, we’re delighted to be back again and poised to run with the 2024 programme that will aim to showcase even more innovation and achievement across the education and edtech sectors.

We have so many ideas for these awards, that we can’t possibly implement them all at once! However, we’re building on last year’s successes and moving forward this year with some new innovations of our own…

Focus on achievement

We’ve worked hard to review, revise and refine our anonymization process to iron out bias – conscious or unconscious – as much as possible. This is really important to us and we hope it is to you, too. We want our winners and runners-up to be selected not for who they are, but for what they have achieved. This, we think, is the fairest way to achieve that.

Amazing judging panel

This year, we wanted to increase the diversity of our judging panel and recruit from different educational and edtech backgrounds across the world – and we were overjoyed and amazed at the response to our call for applications! The quality of the applicants was extremely high and we have spent many hours and late nights going through the submissions and selecting who will join the panel and where they will fit. [Applicants: you’ll find out very soon if you’ve made it!]

We’re extending fairness further into our judging process for the #GETAs24 by assigning two judges to each category whose individual assessment marks will be combined to reveal their category’s overall winning submissions.

New categories!

Talking of categories, we’ve refreshed our existing ones and added a shedload of new ones. Once again, we have three themes:

1. Education: schools, staff and initiatives
2. EdTech companies: products, projects and companies
3. Lifetime Achievement: for an individual from either the education or edtech sector who has made a significant impact throughout their career.

There’s sure to be an option for you, a colleague or your company, so be sure to check them out when we launch!

Eyes on the prizes…

We’re already looking ahead to our winner’s event and putting plans in place to make it a great night of celebration for everyone – wherever you are in the world. But there’s lots to do before then…
